Community guidelines
Draft for review. This page describes how EVFolk works today. It is being reviewed before the public launch and may change; we will update the date below when it does. Last updated 14 October 2026.
EVFolk is for EV owners helping each other. These rules keep it useful and safe.
Be helpful and be kind
- Share what you saw: whether a charger worked, what it cost, how busy it was. Be honest and specific.
- Posts, comments and photos in the feed are for riding and owning an EV: charges, your day, questions, tips and the road.
- Disagree without insulting. No harassment, threats, bullying, hate against people for who they are, or sexual content.
Protect people's privacy
- Don't post anyone's home address, phone number, number plate, face or other private information without their consent, and don't try to find where someone lives from their check-ins.
- Don't spread rumours or accusations about named people, riders or shops. Report a problem to us instead.
- Posts never show your exact location: you choose a place name, and home, privacy zones and plates are never shown. Hidden earnings stay hidden.
- Check-ins at home chargers are always private. Don't work around that.
Keep chargers and the map honest
- Don't post false check-ins or invent chargers. Suggest a correction only when you know it is right.
- Don't advise anything unsafe, such as bypassing a charger's protection or doing electrical work you aren't qualified for.
Not allowed
- Illegal content or activity, scams, spam and unwanted advertising, including loan offers, selling and links to outside payment.
- Impersonating other people, EVFolk or a company, or using a misleading handle.
- Content that glorifies violence or self-harm, or exploits anyone, especially children.
- Evading a suspension, or abusing reports to target someone.
Report, block and mute
- Report a profile, a post, a comment, a check-in or a charger from its ⋮ menu in the app. You'll be asked for a reason. You can also email hello@evfolk.com.
- Block someone and you won't see each other's content or profiles. Mute hides their posts and check-ins from you only. Manage both in Settings → Blocked and muted.
Filters and limits
Posts and comments are checked against lists of words in Bengali and English. Some matches are hidden until a moderator looks; others stay up and are reviewed. New accounts can post and comment less often and can't share links for their first days.
What happens after a report
A person on our team reads every report; nothing is decided by an algorithm alone. We aim to look at reports within 24 hours. Depending on what we find we may take the content down (it is hidden, not erased, so we can review the decision), remove a charger we added, warn the person, or suspend their account, which signs them out everywhere. We tell the person why. We may keep a record of the decision. If you believe we got it wrong, email us and a second person will look.
If someone is in danger, contact your local emergency services first.
